That area becomes very popular in the 17th century while tsar Alexey Mikhailovitch (father of Peter the Great) makes Kolomenskoye not only his favourite summer residence but also uses it for hunting purposes. That park contains a very old cathedral that was inscribed into UNESCO World heritage list.
